what if ...............just what if?

.....The ball is pumped into the box as and Vermalen launches himself and collides with the Dynamo Kiev goalkeeper who punches it to the edge of our box..........we are caught out with Arsenal trying to get the winner after Kiev punished us with their equalizer and away goal on the night,,Arsenal are staring down the barrel in this years champions league,,,with Van persie off injured and Nasri not making inroads in the centre of the pitch,,finally given his chance after cesc finally left for Barca last month,,chamackh and gervinhio have no luck against an inspired and teak tough Kiev defense but irony upon irony as we look at the clock it shows 93 mins as KIEVS record signing Neymar sprints away to knock Arsenal into oblivion and out of the champions league before the group stages for the 1st time in 15 years......
Thursdays newspapers are savage ,,"spineless" say The Sun,,,,"Wengers transfer policy backfires" say the Mirror,, "not good enough" from the mail.
The team already decimated with early season injuries to Theo Walcott (on England duty obviously),,and Djourou (after a particurly bruising encounter the previous weekend with Andy Carroll),and our as per usual disciplinary situation with Kosceliny supspended for a professional foul after covering for Squillachi late mistake away to Newcastle(Squillachi having replaced TV when we were 1 up at Newcastle ,,which finished 1-1 due to the concession of the penalty conceded by Koscelny....
If the above seems like some sort of doomsday scenario ,,fellow gooners let me tell you this is a clear and present danger.
Arsene Wenger ,creature of habit as he is tends to try and wrap players in cotton wool for games when he thinks the next 1 is more important..........our opening 4 games have the whiff of "rotation" already.
And if we allow ourselves to be fooled that our current back four will not get through this period without self destructing ,,,well then you are a more optimistic gooner than me
I am more than happy with Vermalen,Djourou, and even Koscelny but the thought of somehow Squallchi having to cover or start in either of these 4 pivotal games fills me with dread.
Sahko,Cahill,Samba,Verthonghen,Spahic, are all names mentioned as potential centre halves being linked with a move to the Emirates.
Arsene is carefully dithering over who is best value for money and who is overpriced,,if the possiblity of Sebastian Squillachi defending for his life in injury time of the last minute of the 2nd leg of Champions league is your idea of value for money......well then
As i said at the top what if?.........just what if?
